Historic House Hotels Sustainability Statement

Historic House Hotels combines traditional hospitality with a unique conservation purpose.

What is our purpose?

Historic House Hotels combines traditional hospitality with a unique conservation purpose, creating memorable stays that help protect the nation's heritage.

Across the three hotels, we continually seek ways to reduce our environmental impact, from sustainable guest amenities and responsible sourcing to reducing waste and suporting local suppliers. Our historic gardens and parklands play an important role in this providing home-grown produce and honey for our kitchens, flowers for the houses, and valuable habitats for wildlife in increasingly urbanised areas.

What sets Historic House Hotels apart, however, is its charitable purpose. As a subsidiary of the National Trust, all profits generated by the three hotels are gifted back to the charity, helping to care for historic houses, gardens, landscapes, coastline and wildlife across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

For guests, a stay at Bodysgallen Hall, Hartwell House or Middlethorpe Hall is more than a relaxing escape, it is an opportunity to contribute directly to the protection of the nation's heritage. It is hospitality with purpose, where every booking helps preserve special places for future generations to discover and enjoy.
